2000: Dancing In The Moonlight By Toploader

Composed by Sherman Kelly and first recorded by rock group King Harvest in 1972. British band Toploader released their version in 2000 from their debut studio album, Onka’s Big Moka. When first released in February 2000 it peaked at No.19 in the United Kingdom. Released again in November 2000 (with new production from record producing and songwriting team Stargate), it reached No.7 in the United Kingdom in 2001. The Toploader version of Dancing In The Moonlight was used in the 2002 film A Walk to Remember and in the Netflix web television series The Umbrella Academy. In 2007, the song was placed at No.17 on BBC Three’s (UK television channel) list of The 100 Most Annoying Pop Songs We Hate to Love.
