1977: Eagle By Abba

Composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of Swedish pop group Abba and recorded by the same group for their fifth studio album. Eagle is the longest Abba song, with the album version lasting for 5 minutes and 51 seconds. Inspiration for the song came from the book by American writer Robert Bach, titled Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Said Eagle co-composer, Björn Ulvaeus, “I was trying to capture the sense of freedom that I got from reading that book”. The single was released in a limited number of countries.
